Toronto b-ball fans and Drake devotees spent the weekend gossiping about the hip-hopper’s latest sartorial statement: a Raptors-themed suit jacket that he modeled for the media after the Toronto team’s “Drake Night” game at the ACC on Saturday. The light-brown suit topper looked ordinary enough to the unsuspecting eye. The flair was on the inside, in the form of a lining fashioned out of former Raptor Vince Carter’s rookie jersey.
“Last time I came to a press conference I said that I needed sort of maybe a better suit option,” Drake told reporters before the game. “So I got the custom suit done today, paying homage to everything that we believe in.”
Drake has previously flaunted his civic pride lyrically, as well as in cake form, so it only makes sense that his hometown love should now be expressed sartorially. The custom piece was stitched by Garrison Bespoke, the same Toronto mens’ tailor that recently launched a line of $20,000 bulletproof suits marketed to gentlemen with dangerous jobs.
