Scotiabank Nuit Blanche returns for an eighth year and will once again transform the city into an open-air art gallery. Audiences can experience more than 110 art pieces. This year Nathan Phillips Square features “Forever Bicycles” a sculpture by artist Ai Weiwei as well as projects along the city’s streets, in corporate lobbies, store fronts and alleyways for a single night. This is a great event for a first date or your long-term girl. It is an easy way to show that you are cultured and that you know how to have fun.

Sat.Oct 5- Night at the Opera-Peter Grimes

Take your special lady out for a romantic night out to the opera. The Canadian Opera Company presents Peter Grimes, his gripping opera about an alienated fisherman and the seaside village he struggles to inhabit. World-renowned Canadian tenor Ben Heppner sings the title role, less than a year after making his triumphant return to the COC in the sold-out hit Tristan und Isolde. COC Music Director Johannes Debus conducts his first Peter Grimes, arguably the greatest opera of the 20th century, leading the COC Orchestra and Chorus through its evocative score.
